Flickr + Target = Fun
Posted by Andrew
So my brother Peter provided a tip to me about ordering photos from Flickr. Flickr is already my favorite website for hosting and sharing photos -- and now I like it even more because of its printing services.
If you can't wait for your prints in the mail, Flickr offers the option to pick up your photos at your local Target retail store.
Note: this is not the same as going to a yellow Kodak kiosk at your nearby CVS or Walgreens and plugging in your camera's memory card. When Flickr sends your photos directly to a local Target they go to their special thermal printer for amazing quality prints -- especially if you have a DSLR camera.
After I picked up my high quality prints (which were ready in the time it took to drive to the store) I wandered around Target and found these cool acrylic 5X7 frames.

Total cost: $13.50 per framed picture.
Pork Butt

Oh snap it's BBQ time again!

You can tell Kallie was pretty excited about the simmering, savory pork BBQ we were about to devour for dinner. Or maybe because her favorite visitors from next door had returned?
We had returned indeed -- Laura and I know how to befriend good cooks.
Here's a picture of Kristen, BBQ master:

And here is a picture of my marvelous dinner -- which is still rumbling a bit in your dear author's digestive tract. How awesome does this look? I love putting beans on top of fries!

To add to the fun we tried out a new drink that is getting a lot
of word-of-mouth lately. It's called "Firefly."
The stuff is deceptively strong, and I think it hampered my ability to play bowling on the PS3 after dinner.
Naturally after receiving such a nice home cooked meal, I had enough manners to let our generous hosts win at video games.
Zoe watched us play from underneath her blanket -- probably because it got a little intense!

They say women live longer because they are more successful at maintaining social relationships.
I think Laura and her friends are proof of this concept, as they chuckled, chortled and chatted their way through the weekend. In my unofficial list of "best guests" Magwa and C-dawg are certainly in the top 5%.

Courtney and Maggie visited this weekend, and they may have well arrived in a time capsule dug out of the back yard. Most everything is the same among the girls, and I reverted back to my goofy self while they were here, trying to grab pictures for my blog.
And to think, a "blog" didn't even exist back when we all met at Northwestern.
Here's a picture of the trio from more than a few years ago (note the same order of appearance). It is one of my favorites!

Giggles and Mayhem

Andrew, Caroline and I (as well as Oreo and Holly) had a wonderful time with Andrew’s parents. Sherry and Artie were fantastic with Caroline and provided some welcomed relief to Andrew and myself. We even managed to go on a date while they were here, which we haven’t done in months! I don’t think Caroline missed us too much though, as you can see from the pictures below…

One fun outing Sherry and I took was to Caroline’s four-month well visit on Friday. It was a success in every way! Caroline is right on track for her growth and development. She weighed in at 13.5 pounds and measured 25.5 inches in length, placing her in the 50th and 75th percentiles respectively. The nurse asked Sherry to hold the C while she wrote her stats down, during which Caroline (who was nude at the time) decided to relieve herself on grandma’s lap! Luckily, Sherry is a good sport!
That's why grandma's pants are wet in the pic below!

After our doctor’s visit, we ventured out into Charlotte for some shopping and to catch up with our friends, the Barbers. While there, Caroline met the Barber’s daughter, Molly, for the first time. Molly is a little less than a year older than C and SO adorable. We expect them to be good friends in the future.

Oreo's 28th birthday
Posted by Andrew
It's a strange time in a man's life when the age of his dog eclipses his own.
Even stranger is to share the same age. You see, for a short while Oreo and I will both be 28 years-old. This is funny to me because Oreo remains one of my best friends, and sad because his mortality is approaching seven times faster than my own
Despite that grim fact, we certainly enjoy him and celebrated his birthday in style by eating hamburgers.
Everyone tonight, man and beast, received their own glorious 80/20 all beef patty.
Happy birthday old buddy.

Our 50-word movie review site is starting to blossom.
We have been leveraging Google Webmaster Tools to get a look at which search terms end up driving people to the site. Webmaster Tools is a robust solution for webmasters to leverage:
It has been exciting to see which of our reviews rank highly in Google search results.

Here's a comment someone left for my review of The Departed:
i guess u havent got the insight of the movie. Its nota movie on violence but on characters and how messy things cud get. Indecently The Departed is my all time favorite movie
If you've ever watched a movie and felt like you had something to say, but lacked the soapbox to say it... I encourage you to invest a couple minutes in writing your own 50-word review, it's fun!
